For most people receiving it, these pages were their first look at Luke, Leia, Ben Kenobi, the Jawas and Tatooine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThe Star Wars logo itself began here. Suzy Rice, art director at Seiniger Advertising, designed it in late 1976 for this brochure's cover. George Lucas asked for something that looked \"very fascist,\" and she built it from outlined, modified Helvetica Black, joining the letters and giving the W sharp, pointed tips. Before release the points were flattened for the film's opening titles, and the flat W became the permanent logo.
