3.75" Scale Figures | A New Hope | 2005 | Mail-Away Exclusive
A 2005 tribute to one of the most storied promotions in Star Wars collecting history. Hasbro recreated Kenner's original 1977 "Empty Box" mail-away offer for the launch of Revenge of the Sith, limiting production to 50,000 sets. These four figures were redeemed by certificate and shipped loose in individual bags inside the plain white mailer box.
Includes:
- Luke Skywalker figure with telescoping lightsaber (new sculpt)
- Princess Leia figure with blaster pistol (new sculpt)
- R2-D2 figure (based on VOTC mould)
- Chewbacca figure with bowcaster (VOTC body, new head)
- Display pegs
The figures mirror the original 1977 Early Bird four — the same characters, in updated form. Luke's telescoping lightsaber is a deliberate callback to the vintage original.
