The Desert Sail Skiff is part of Kenner's Mini-Rig sub-line — smaller, lower-priced vehicles designed to complement the main 3.75" figure range. The Skiff is based on the sail barges and skiffs of Tatooine's desert terrain.

In the original Canadian bilingual English/French box — Canadian market Mini-Rig releases were produced in significantly smaller numbers than their US counterparts. A loose complete example is also available.
