VC86 is the 2012 release tied to the Phantom Menace 3D theatrical re-release, and a notable upgrade over the earlier VC08 Darth Maul from the 2010 inaugural wave — the VC86 sculpt features improved articulation and a more screen-accurate soft-goods treatment. Collectors who passed on VC08 largely consider VC86 the definitive 3.75" Maul of the TVC run.
